Hall's Distemper double-sided porcelain enamel on iron advertising sign. 'HALL'S DISTEMPER Makes The Home Beautiful'. There is no manufacturers mark. The sign measures 12 & 1/2" wide x 10" tall. The sign has, unfortunately, lost its side mounting flange for projecting display, as it has, apparently, been used for some considerable time as a shelf in a small oven!! The sign shows the familiar two decorators carrying the plank more associated with the larger pictorials and of course the very large wooden displays that used to be alongside the railways near stations.
